MY ADVICE: Forget about past perfect verb tense. It is very rarely used.

“The Seven Most High-Frequency Verb Tenses in English”

Simple verb tenses- You should be able to use them at this level.

I am go go/went/will go/is going to walk to school.

She is walk walks/walked/will walk/ is going to walk to her friend’s’ house.

 

Progressive/Continuous tenses- ‘ing’

We are watching a movie right now.

You are living in BC.  these days

He is working in a warehouse. these days, currently

She was driving, and she saw a deer by the side of highway.

 

Perfect tenses- present perfect & present perfect progressive

Mie has lived in Vancouver for two years.  since 2023.

 

past perfect- Mei had lived in Japan for five years from 2006 to 2011.

substitute simple past- Mei lived in Japan for five years from 2006 to 2011.

 

WRITING NUMBERS

one- nine   write them out

10- ~   use numerals

She has three kids. He has 28 kids.

I am taking two courses at SHEC.

I have lived in BC for six years. I have lived here for 15 years.
