The interviewers will feel you out. They will talk with you to have a sense of who you are.

You have to be able to have normal, relaxed, discursive conversation.

You have to be personable.

 

Do as many interviews as you can. You need the experience of doing interviews. You will feel more comfortable.

 

You get a feel for what kinds of questions you will asked.

You get a feel for the vibe of the interview.

SLANG the vibe- the overall feeling, emotion

 

ADVICE preparing for an interview

-practice in front of the mirror

-prepare some answers- personal intro, professional experience, why you want the job

NOTE:

past perfect – had lived   I had lived in Edmonton for two years.

SECRET: Native English speakers do not past perfect very much. We alsmost almost subsitute simple past with a time indicator.

I lived in Edmonton for two years.

I don’t teach past perfect because it is not used much.

FREE ADVICE- Forget about past perfect. You don’t need it.
