Simple present- habitual, truth

 

Simple past – one event finished

 

Simple future- one event to come “will” “am going to”

 

 

Next verb tense:

Present progressive/ present continuous  ‘ing’ verb

Either way is OK - progressive / continuous

 

aux verb ‘to be’ + ‘ing’ verb

aux verb ‘to be’ = am   is   are

Examples:

He is running down the sidewalk.  aux verb ‘is’   ing ‘running’

She is talking on the phone to her sister.

Mei is studying French at school.

You are learning English at SHEC.

She is waiting for the bus.

The dog is sleeping.

The cat is cleaning its fur.

** need two words in the verb “is going” “are walking” “am talking”
