EF34 Class 8- simple verb tenses, Viola Desmond, paragraph practice

Write it out in paragraph format.

Review of verb tenses so far

SIMPLE PRESENT- always, usually, habit

SIMPLE PAST- one event in the past

SIMPLE FUTURE- one event in the future “will” “be going to”

 

Examples of sentence with simple verb tenses:

run

She runs 10k a week. SIMPLE PRESENT

She ran 10k last week. SIMPLE PAST

She will run 5k tonight. SIMPLE FUTURE

 

Let’s choose some verbs to practice simple tenses with.

I will choose six from these verbs.

2. go

4. drink

5. come

7. walk

8. make

9. sleep

10. have

Let’s write some sentences using these verbs and using the three simple tenses.

e.g.

drink

drank SIMPLE PAST

Yesterday, Ollie drank three cups of coffee.

I don’t drink pop.

pop- Canada- Coke, Sprite, 7Up

soda - US

She didn’t drink any water yesterday.

 

buy

Mai will buy a new jacket next week.

Mei bought a new jacket last night.

last week   yesterday morning

 

sleep

I will go to sleep early tonight.

I will sleep on the couch tonight.

He will sleep in the doghouse.

IDIOM in the doghouse- wife is mad at him

He is in the doghouse. His wife is mad at him.
