EF2/3 run-on sentence exercises


1.     Elana was late, but they started the meeting without her.
Because Elana was late, they started the meeting without her.
They started the meeting without Elana because she was late.

2.     Bill had so much work to do.  He had to do the laundry, go shopping, and make dinner.
Bill had so much work to do because/ since/ in that he had to do the laundry, go shopping, and make dinner.

3.     Claudio made a mistake, and she tried to hide it.  However, she got caught.
Claudio made a mistake, and when she tried to hide it, she got caught.
Claudio made a mistake.  She got caught when she tried to hide it.

Way More Difficult
Claudio who made a mistake got caught when she tried to hide it.
Claudio got caught when she tried to hide the mistake that she made.

4.     Joe found a wallet in the street, looked inside for ID, and found a driver’s license and some credit cards.
5.     The children are tired, so put them to bed.
Put the children to bed because they are tired.
