Dialogues “Making a Complaint”
Pair up and for each pair to choose one of the “Role-Play”
scenarios. Together, each pair can discuss their scenario and create a short
dialogue (8-10 sentences?) to dramatize the scenario. Students will have
questions about vocab, phrasing, etc. Then they can take turns coming to the
front of the class to recite, perform the dialogues. Students can focus on
pronunciation, rate of speech, volume, word stress, etc.

Pair up. Each pair choose one of the “Role-Play” scenarios.
Together, each pair can discuss their scenario and create a short dialogue
(8-10 sentences?) to dramatize the scenario. Then they can take turns coming to
the front of the class to perform the dialogues. Students can focus on
pronunciation, rate of speech, volume, word stress, etc.
Rate of speech- slow down, resist speaking very quickly
Volume- speak up, audible, must be loud enough, talk to back
row, project your voice
Word stress- English – waves on an ocean, avoid monotone,
flat, uninflected voice
Pronunciation- Try your best! slow down
