Adverb Clauses

1.     when, man
The man was walking on the road when a car drove by.

2.     if, house
If I buy a house, I have to earn a lot of money.
          I will be happy if I have a house.

3.     because mirror
I need a new mirror because my son took my mirror.
I need a new mirror because my mirror broke.

4.     before car
I take the key before I drive the car.
I didn’t drive a car before I came to Canada.

5.     since police
I called the police since my house was robbed.
The police came since there was a car accident.

6.     until, door
The door was open until I got home.
We waited until the store opened its door.


Adjective clauses that, which, who

1.The businesswoman who is very busy talks on her phone a lot.
2.The business that I owned is closed/ shut down.
          I quit the job that I had.

3.The pen which is on the table is dry/ has no ink.
