1.
A character is a person, animal or thing
presented as an identity in the story. A
character may be characterized by the author through physical appearance,
action, thoughts or words, interaction or response of other characters, and
direct commentary by the author.
a. A major character is a character that is
essential to the story. If a major character is removed from the story,
the story could not play out the same way.
b. A minor character is a less important character
who may add colour to the story but is not essential to the plot.
c. A protagonist is the central or primary
character in a literary work. The plot
of the story revolves mainly around this character. The reader is meant to sympathize most with
the protagonist.
d. An antagonist is a character, group of
characters, or an institution that works against the protagonist
