Let’s get into our small groups and talk about “Asking for Directions”

Which one is better?

 

Googlemaps is good.

You need to keep your phone charged.

You need internet.

 

Sometimes Googlemaps is wrong. Sometimes it sends you to the wrong place.

 

Sometimes Googlemaps is slow.

Sometimes the map on my phone is very slow.

Your phone tells you where to go.
“In 500 metres, turn left.”

“In two minutes, you will arrive at your destination.”

“Turn right after two traffic lights.”

 

Do you ever use a paper map?

We used to use paper maps. Now we use phones.

 

I use paper maps when I go hiking.

I use paper maps when I go hunting.

I use a map and compass.

 

Some people use a GPS.

GPS – global positioning system

A PGS is a handheld computer.

Your phone battery will be used up quickly.

A phone will work in the city.

A GPS will work in the woods where there is no phone service.

subtract 16 from 77 = 61

That works north to south. It does not work east to west.

 

In Vancouver, the mountains are north. They are called the Northshore Mountains.

East to west are avenues.

 

Vancouver has a small population compared to many cities.

 

In Canada, we pay a lot of tax.

Alberta has no sales tax.

Everybody in Canada pays income tax.
