Oral Presentation: A Person in
My Life Who I Admire

coming
to the front of the class and talking to us
TOPIC: Who
is a person in your life who you admire? Choose one person.
admire(v)-
respect, look up to, want to follow their example, act like them
They are a
role model to you. Someone who is a mentor to you.
It can be any
person who you know: older, younger, a sibling, parent, relative, friend,
community member, etc. This person can be from your home country, Canada, or
anywhere. It must be somebody that you know personally.
In two weeks, you will put together a short
presentation about that person. There will be two main parts to this project:
WRITTEN (6 points)
A couple of
paragraphs.
Paragraph 1-Writing describing who they are. Write
a brief biography (the story of their life) for them. What is their name, age,
etc? Give their background. Some details of their biography. Explain who they
are.
Paragraph 2-Writing explaining why you admire
them. What characteristics do they have that you admire? What do they do that
you admire?
You will give me the writing the day before
you do your presentation.
SPOKEN (2-3 minutes) (4 points)
On your presentation day, you will come to the
front of the class and talk to us. You will tell the class about this person and
why you admire them. You can take a few written notes in case you forget
something. However, no reading, please.
Start to
think about what person you would like to write and talk about.
