Learning English is very good for your brain.

The more you exercise your brain, the healthier your brain will be as we get older.

Difficult mental work is excellent mental exercise.

Sentence styles:

Noun clauses

 

-used with verbs that have to do with thinking or your mind:

‘think’, ‘know’, ‘understand’, ‘believe’, ‘realize’, ‘feel’

 

OTHERS ‘admit’, ‘mean’, ‘remember’, ‘forget’, ‘imagine’

 

-also verbs about speech: ‘say’ ‘whisper’, etc.

 

Other words that we use are these pronouns: that why how

 

 

 

 

 

A-list verbs: ‘think’ ‘know’ ‘understand’ ‘believe’ ‘realize’ ‘feel’ ‘say’

B-list pronouns: ‘that’ ‘why’ ‘how’

 

To write a noun clause take an “A” and put it with a “B” word.

Sarah thinks that it will rain tonight.

I think that English is very important for newcomers to Canada.

I think that I can’t come tomorrow.  I don’t think that I can come tomorrow.

I think that I will get the book.

I think that I can fly.

Mike thinks that he did well on the test.

How can you say that? SIMPLE

Sara said that she can’t drive by take the bus.

My brother said that he will be president.
