Spoken Presentation: My Favourite Place in my Home Country

 

What is your favourite place in your home country?

 

 

There will be two parts to this project:

 

1.    WRITTEN- multi-paragraph- several paragraphs

- 2,3,4,5 paragraphs (will teach this week)

-Write about the place- e.g. the geography, history, attractions, etc.

-Write about your relationship to this place: when you went there, with whom, what you did there, etc.

 

2.    SPOKEN (3-5 minutes)

On your presentation day, you will tell the class about this place and your relationship to it. You can take a few written notes in case you forget something. However, no reading. Also, please, do not recite a memorized speech.

 

Here are some possible topics to focus on:

Where the place is

When you went there

Who you went with

What the scenery is like

What there is to do there

What your memories are of the place

 

Step 1- Choose a topic that you would like to talk about. Email the topic by tomorrow 7PM. ahaley@vsb.bc.ca  (1pt)

Step 2= Sign up for a presentation time

Step 3- Begin to brainstorm ideas. Then begin to write.* (class time)

*You could get ChatGPT to write this for you in .003 seconds. Hopefully, you will take this as an opportunity to do some organized, planning, and writing on your own.ope
