The Stenberg Dispensing Optician students are starting their Contact Lens Lab and we need volunteers. Do you need new contact lenses? OPD Stenberg Students will be providing excellent customer service (in training) while guiding you through contact lenses “purchase” at our lab in Surrey. The students will be providing all the assessments to ensure a proper contact lens is fitted to you for optimal fit, comfort, and vision.Here are the particulars: · You must email your prescription to opd@stenbergcollege.com<mailto:opd@stenbergcollege.com> by June 9th, 2023 and bring it with you to your first appointment. · Children and Seniors with prescriptions are welcome. · Each volunteer will be seen a minimum of 2 separate times for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, potentially by different lab fitters each time. · You will need to sign up for an appointment for EACH of the Initial Fittings, First Re-Check, and if required a Final Re-Check Appointment. · Each volunteer must complete all required visits and only then will receive additional free contact lenses. · You will be required to provide feedback on your experience right after each appointment. Completion of the survey is essential to student learning. · All volunteers will be required to sign a liability waiver form. · No lenses will be dispensed after the lab is complete. You must be available for pickup during the allotted times. · At times there can be a contact lens client we cannot fit due to contraindications. You will be notified during the first visit if we will not be able to dispense your contact lenses.Sign up for one of the following time frames from each section by emailing opd@stenbergcollege.com<mailto:opd@stenbergcollege.com>. You will get a confirmation email if you have been selected for this round as well as a sign up link for your appointment times.Initial FittingsThis appointment will require 1.5 to 2 hours of your time. · June 28, 29, 30 o Times; 10 am - 12 pm, 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm, 2:30 pm - 4:30pmFirst Re-Check AppointmentsEach appointment will last approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. · July 5, 6 ,7 o TIMES; 10 am - 11:30 am, 12:30 pm - 2 pm, 2 pm - 3:30 pmFinal Re-Check Appointments will be booked based on the necessity of the revisit.Each appointment will last approximately 60 minutes.Other notes: · All appointments take place in the OPD lab (Room G210, 10060 King George Blvd.). Paid parking is available. When you arrive, call the lab at 778-761-5073 to be admitted to the building. · Please note that we reserve the right to reject certain prescriptions that may be too complicated for the student at this stage of their learning process. · Retail value for the contact lenses will vary based on need and type. But they are still free. Excellent value for zero dollars! · Your participation in this educational experience is entirely voluntary and you may refuse to participate or withdraw at any time.At the end of the final appointment, you will typically be provided with additional contact lenses the same day. If they are not in stock, they will then be ordered, and it will be up to the participant to pick them up in the allotted time.
