Descriptive writing

Topic sentence- intrduce the idea or subject of the paragraph

Supporting sentneces – hair, eyes, nose, mouth, etc

Concluding sentence – wrap up the paragraph

FUN EXERCISE- writing, speaking, listening

Let’s try something a little bit more challenging. You can chose a picture. Write a short descriptive paragraph about the picture. We will read them out loud. We all will try to guess which picture you are writing about.

Use a dictionary and thesaurus to find vocabulary.

 

Let’s put all our pictures out on the table.

One by one, we can read our paragraphs aloud.

We can try to guess which picture you are describing.

 

Tomorrow- Test#2 – descriptive paragraph

I will put two pictures on the screen. You can choose one and write a 100-125 word paragraph about it.

Don’t tell a story. Just describe which is in the picture.
