IMPORTANT THING: A big part of my classes has been sharing sentences and fixing them. We have been sharing sentences by computer on Zoom. I want to keep that going. It has been really to share sentences and correct them together.

Good solution: Email me sentences that you would like me to correct with you. You can email me them during class or from home.

*I will keep the sentences anonymous. i.e If you send me a few sentences, I will remove your name.

because when if since- I will teach you about 25. You won’t have to learn all of them, but you should start learning them. You probably know most of them. I will remind/teach you how to use them.

My neighbours who are very young are sometimes noisy at night.

Hamir lives in an apartment that has a view of the Northshore mountains. He can see the snow-topped peaks in the wintertime.

Phrasal verbs:

 

Daily Phrasal Verbs – useful for people who are developing language skills

- idioms, idiomatic- don’t translate well from a dictionary, meaning is not in the dictionary, meaning is in the usage

- heart of English

 

Phrasal verbs: verb + preposition

verb + preposition

look at- look (v) + at (prep)= ‘look at’ phrasal verb

look after- look (v) + after (prep)= ‘look after’ phrasal verb – TOTALLY DIFFERENT MEANING

look up to – admire, respect ‘You look up to your grandmother.’

 

I want to teach 5-6 each day. By the end of the cpourse, we should have 200-250 phrasal verbs. Some of these you will know already.
