You can combine many types of clauses in a sentence.
These kinds of sentences are the key to success in writing English.
Don’t go bananas with them. Keep it simple and elegant. Don’t overdo it.

SIMPLE
COMPOUND
COMPLEX – adv cl, adj cl, n cl

First steps. Basic tools. From next we will start to use them to make beautiful sentences.
I will show you ideas about writing sentences that have some style.

Main concerns about yesterday’s paragraph:
- clearly many people did not prepare for the test
I asked you research (read about her life and story) Viola Desmond Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
- major problem – plagiarism
Copied from the internet. You can’t do that.

Viola Irene Desmond was a Canadian civil rights activist and businesswoman of Black Nova Scotian descent.

0/6 and a letter in your file.

Instead, read the information, understand it, digest it, and then write in our own words.
Viola Irene Desmond was a Canadian civil rights activist and businesswoman of Black Nova Scotian descent.
REWRITE: Viola Desmond was a Black woman from Nova Scotia. She fought for her civil rights.
She was arrested when she sat down in the wrong section of a movie theatre.

Takeaway: We always write our own sentences. We don’t
plagiarize.

We are writing our ideas down in simple, compound and complex sentences.

Viola Desmond was a woman from Nova Scotia. She fought for her civil rights. There were no formal laws enforcing segregation in movie theatres in New Glasgow, and the theatre had no sign telling its patrons about the policy, but main floor seats were reserved for white patrons.

- citation
Viola Desmond was a woman from Nova Scotia. She fought for her civil rights. She fought against the unofficial “laws enforcing segregation” (wikipedia.org) in her town.
