subject - main noun, thing, person in a sentence

predicate - verb and everything attached to the verb

The English football team will beat the Croatian team today.

subject - main or complete

main subject - just one word
complete subject - everything around the subject, descriptive words, articles

predicate - main or complete
main predicate - just the verb





NOUNS CAN MODIFY NOUNS
The boy is ten years old.
He is a ten-years-old boy. XXX
He is a ten-year-old boy.
