EF2/3 Verbs with infinitives or gerunds

verb "like"

She likes ice cream.

She like VERB

She likes to watch TV.
She likes watching TV.

to watch - infinitive (a kind of verb)
infinitive- to go, to sleep, to eat, to do, to study

watching - gerund (a kind of noun)
gerund- going, sleeping, eating, doing, studying


begin, start, continue, like, love, prefer, hate, can't stand

like
dislike

begin = start

prefer = like it more than something else

hate = very strong, a lot of hate

can't stand = really dislike something

strong   -  stronger    -  strongest emotion 
dislike  -  can't stand - hate
